Specialty Lodging Tackles Super Bowl Lodging Vacancy Dilemma

SCOTTSDALE – Still waiting for tickets for Super Bowl XLII in Arizona? All is not lost. If money is no object, tickets can still be purchased. If not, be immersed in the Super Bowl atmosphere and especially with this year’s opportunity for football history to be made. Feel like part of the crowd — about 50,000 ticketless visitors descend on host cities every year for just this purpose.

Seeking tickets and have tried contacting the teams? Ticket agents like Stub Hub or local ticket brokers often have tickets available until game day, but be prepared to pay about $3,000 to $8,000, depending on seat location. Search eBay or craigslist, or place a “seeking tickets” ad in the local paper. Plus, there are always the ticket scalpers.

Tickets or not, lodging is a must. It’ll be difficult to find reasonably priced hotel accommodations at this late date, since most of the hotel rooms where purchased a year ago. But many vacation rental homes and condos are available and at prices that make traditional lodging seems outrageous. One of the area’s best vacation rental firms is Specialty Lodging Scottsdale, known for an exclusive collection of luxury managed properties and great customer service. www.SpecialtyLodging.com or 866-316-4821

Check out the NFL-sponsored events going on now thru Super Sunday including events, celebrity filled parties and several NFL sponsored events: www.nfl.com/superbowl. For only $17.50, hit the popular NFL Experience adjacent to the stadium. This interactive venue offers everything from participatory games, like getting timed doing the 40-yard dash, to kids’ clinics, free autograph sessions with NFL superstars and a football card show.

Other top-rated NFL events include the Gridiron Greats Championship Weekend, Golf, Poker & Super Jam Party: www.gridirongreats.org. And don’t forget about the “most fun you can have on grass,” the FBR Open Gold Tournament all week leading up to the Super Bowl. For lists of more events happening in the area visit www.SpecialtyLodging.com/SuperBowl.htm

On game day, settle in at a local restaurant, bar, house party or local event hosting a Super Bowl party; they’ll be everywhere. You might just think you were actually at the game or at least that is what you can tell everyone when you get back home.

Since we discovered Scottsdale over 10 years ago, we have found THE place to get away. Just consider that the NE Patriots are staying at the Westin Kierland in Scottsdale. It's where the action is in the Valley/Phoenix Metro area. Super Bowl Media parties, etc - GOLF everywhere, fine dining and events such as the greatest Classic Car Auction (Barrett Jackson) in January and the FBR Open at the TPC in Scottsdale.
Now that Phoenix has a metro "beltway" with 17 exits in Scottsdale there's quick access to everywhere. We LOVE it. When I hear "Phoenix", Scottsdale immediately comes to mind.
