There is an increase in related events this year. A downtown All-Star Block Party and an NBA Cares and Cooks fundraising event are being added to the usual entertainment staples, including the league-sponsored bash following All-Star Saturday Night, the Legends Brunch and the welcoming party for invited guests, which will be held this year at Heritage Square in downtown Phoenix.

The NBA will throw a free outdoor festival for fans during All-Star week.
The NBA All-Star Block Party presented by Right Guard will feature appearances by players and legends, musical performances, video game kiosks, concessions, basketball competitions and a retail outlet.
TNT and NBA TV will broadcast live studio shows from the block party Feb. 12, 13 and 14.
Right Guard, which joined the NBA as an official marketing partner last June, will host player appearances and provide coupons for free products.
Right Guard is a brand of Dial Corp., which moved into its new Scottsdale headquarters in December.
